Love it. It is a beautiful place, excellent service and good drinks at a good price.
Fantasy and medieval themed place where you can drink excellent beer or eat fantastic meats. From the menu, to the rooms, to the uniforms of the waiters, everything gives the diner a unique experience in Pavia.Among the beers, I recommend trying the IPA, it is very good with a sweet note that leaves on the palate.Furthermore, the place is stocked with board games which can obviously be played at the tables to have a great evening.Highly recommended, the atmosphere and conviviality are at home.
Updated review: Our first visit since the lockdown, so we were eager to get stuffed and play a game or two. This time, though, the waiter advised playing after eating. On our first visit, the order took some time to arrive, but it's a slow food kind of place and none of us minded. This time, the food arrived in a surprisingly short time. We had the stinco (slow roasted pork shin) and sauerkraut with juniper berries, which was sublime. We also had the spiced red wine, which was fantastic. After dinner we all had artisanal liquors that came in the cutest little potion bottles. Then with the food finished we played a few rounds of Exploding Kittens, which was hilarious.Overall the whole visit was great, and I only have one warning: either order one set of fries for the group, or skip lunch to make space. We made the mistake of getting fries for each of us, and we were unable to eat even half before we got stuffed. And for fries this good, it's a tragedy having to throw some of them away. That aside, I highly recommend visiting this fine restaurant for an evening of food and fun.
Dinner for two to repeat!! In short, let's be clear, visit the site, look at the Facebook page and you will notice that the same care is found in everything in this tavern, from the kitchen to the bathrooms. Then dinner for two taken (in the photo): non-unique rings, troll tongues and the strength of the trinity; Mystical Balance x2; 2 "human" beers (medium); tundra and dragon tears; final boss and soul of a lord. From appetizer to dessert, with drinks and bitters, around 70, more than honest! in fact I usually spend around 100 for two.Qualitatively, all the ingredients are noteworthy, the whole place seemed clean and well-kept, the covid rules were correct and followed with respect: from cleaning the table to the (free) use of the games; Tavern staff prepared, friendly and helpful.Ultimately I think that even a person not particularly attached to the nerd world or a passion for the Middle Ages or fantasy can find this tavern pleasantly surprising and eat well.If you are in Pavia I highly recommend it.PS. I remember that the venue has a good number of rooms and seats, ideal for special evenings.PPS. The "soul of a lord" dessert is practically made of fresh cream, I do not recommend it to anyone who doesn't like it (like me xD)
Excellent food and medieval atmosphere, I can't wait to go back for a themed evening The names of the foods are really intriguing and fun, and the quality is no different, by ordering the dishes you feel like you're participating in a fantasy game! The cider and mead and King of Fools beer are also delicious! The homemade black bread was delicious and I was very satisfied with my Verde County soup, a very tasty soup Attentive and kind service
Good place to play board games with your fellows and don't forget that they do have English menu. …
Amazing medieval-style cozy place in center Pavia. Owners are really nice to people and they always strive to create a comfortable environment to spend your night along with friends or family. Excellent menu with originally named tasty dishes, a wide choice of beers and a massive variety of themed liquors properly fitting the tavern's atmosphere. On top of that you are entirely free to take one of the many society and table games the tavern has in stock to play all night long with your friends and enjoy an outstanding party time, whether you are an old-style game lover or an hardcore rpg player. Worth to visit even if you're into an easy dessert or a coffee. Just get to the tavern asap if you wanna have a good time.Mattia.
Nice meeting place for a different evening, playing board games, events that entertain but never invasive when eating, kind and courteous staff, well-groomed and excellent food, I will definitely be back
